David McCullough Obituary

After a short illness David Howard McCullough passed in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on October 27, 2011 in his 72nd year. David is survived by his son Owen, sisters Fran and Joan Ann and dog bear, and predeceased by his loving wife Sylvia and brother Stuart, and mother Lois and father Howard . David was always a generous man, often giving to many and never asking for anything in return. He never sought attention but was often the centre of it. Known and respected in the Rossport area as a builder and designer of fine homes, he often contributed to the local area. David was a nature lover and was active in the preservation of local islands. One of David's lifetime dreams was achieved when he purchased and renovated his 44' boat, Scot-Free. A Funeral Reception for David will be from 1pm to 4pm Tuesday November 1, 2011 at the Rossport Hall There will also be a gathering to celebrate David's life from 7pm to 1am also at the Rossport Hall. David will rest with his wife Sylvia in Kingston. There will also be a funeral reception in Kingston at a later date. As expressions of sympathy and in memory of David please donations to any local Rossport charity or board, Humane Society or Cancer Society would be appreciated. A Scottish Toast May the best you have ever seen Be the worst you will ever see May a mouse never leave your girnal With a tear drop in his eye May you always keep hale and hearty Till you are old enough to die May you always be just as happy As we wish you always to be "
