JULY 18, 1958 - JUNE 22, 2012 Mr. David Olynick, age 53 years, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 22, 2012. David was born on July 18, 1958 in Fort William to John and Marie Olynick. David was an employee of Bombardier for the last 33 years, where although work was "four-letter word". he enjoyed the company of many good friends and was always up for a good practical joke. He enjoyed a full life with many hobbies and athletics. Summers were spent at Dog Lake where he fished, played horseshoes and spent nights around the campfire. He looked forward to the annual "Bubba Cup", and ended up serving the winners most years. Throughout the fall and winter he would "strap the couch" to his back and support the Vikings and Leafs, win or lose; Saturday nights would find him at his mothers' watching the Leafs and enjoying his vodka and jelly beans. He was a gifted athlete who enjoyed many sports over the years; baseball, biking, lifting weights to name a few. David was a straight-up guy, with a goofy sense of humour who was well-liked and always surrounded by a tight circle of friends who were very important to him. For several years Wednesday nights and May Long Weekends were spent in the company of the "Super Gang" (You know who you are). He was a compassionate and loving individual, all the kittens he rescued over the years are evidence of this. First and foremost in his life, above all else, he cherished his family and friends. His "Dream Team:, Teryl, Dave, Deanne, Lindsay & Matthieu were the focus of his life. His parents, brothers, in-laws and friends completed the circle. David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Teryl; son David (Lindsay) and daughter Deanne (Matthieu), mother Marie and brothers John (Judy) and Lawrence (Susan). Also surviving are father and mother-in-law Bob and Dolores Montgomery, sisters-in-law Shelley (Jack) Wirstiuk, Susan (Lawrence) Olynick, Jacquie Pytyck, and brother-in-law Robert (Loretta) Montgomery; nieces and nephews Sherry-Lee, Chris (Lisa) and Daniel (Megan) Clarke, Jordan (Tara) and Lindsay Olynick, Aaron, Amanda, and Ashley Montgomery, Lawrence Olynick, Mackenzie Cameron and Cooper Pytyck, and great niece and nephew Brooke and Carson. He was predeceased by his father John, June 28, 1997. He will also be missed by his two little buddies, Maurice and Rougie.
