Debbie Miller Obituary

Ms. Debbie Miller, age 51, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022, in the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with family by her side. She was our precious daughter, beloved mother, sister and a cherished friend of many.

Debbie Miller was born on November 21, 1970, in Brampton, to her parents Iris and Leslie Miller. Debbie served in the military as a signaller, seeing service in Germany and the former Yugoslavia. She worked at both Transport Canada and Nav Canada as an air traffic specialist in Thunder Bay, Fort McMurray, Churchill and Brandon. Debbie earned an MBA at Lakehead University doubly difficult while suffering from cancer and raising two children. She was using those skills to establish a business when she fell ill. She loved reading and writing, putting those passions into developing her own novel. Piano was a huge part of her life, becoming an established and talented pianist, playing at her church every weekend. She spent lots of her time travelling, taking road trips throughout the United States and Canada.

Debbie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her parents, Leslie and Iris Miller, her children, Eamon and Devlin Curran, brother Stephen Miller, niece and nephews Hailey, Riley and Kyle Miller and ex-husband and friend, Joel Curran, as well as close friends, Marie and Ronald Wall, Allison and Oriel Hill, Shannon and Mark Sommerfeld, Corinne Loovere, and musical partner, Crystal Fisher.

She was predeceased by her grandmother Edeleen Agar, sister-in-law Susan Miller and mother-in-law Rosalie Curran.

A special thank you to the group of doctors and nurses in 1A who cared for Debbie in her final weeks.

A celebration of Debbie's life will take place 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Major Paul Wood. Visitation will begin one hour prior. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed live and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.

If so desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the TBRHSC Northern Cancer Fund.

I met Debbie, Eamom and Devlin through hockey. I remember her sincere friendship that she offered to everyone. Her boys brought smiles to her face, and you could feel the warmth. Rest in Peace.
