Deborah MacDonald Obituary
MacDONALD, DEBORAH JOANNE July 28, 1953 - January 9, 2026
With profound heartbreak, we say goodbye to our beautiful mom, Deborah MacDonald.
A fiercely independent, intelligent, proud woman and a hopeful dreamer. Over 25 years ago she uprooted and moved across country with only the belongings she could fit in her car, making a fresh start for herself on the west coast. This became a pattern for her, never afraid to start over when something or somewhere better called to her.
She was the matriarch of three generations, with so much love for her family. She fought to break generational curses, overcoming limitations, poverty, and pain. She was creative and had eclectic tastes. She was drawn to people and things that didn't fit neatly into boxes. She was an avid reader and a fiercely competitive smack talker when games were being played. She was funny, quick-witted, and sharp. She was beautiful, inside and out, had a huge heart, and was unapologetically herself. She showed us resilience and reinvention, and that you can be both soft-hearted and unbreakable.
She leaves behind a legacy greater than words can express. Her courage and love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Goodbye sweet mom. Thank you for forging a new path. We are comforted in knowing you are no longer suffering and that you have been greeted by your beloved fur-baby. Having had you as our mom has been a gift.
