Denis Beaupre Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Denis Eugene Beaupre, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, on Friday, March 10th, 2023, at the age of 69 years in a downhill skiing accident in Revelstoke, British Columbia.

He will be lovingly remembered by his partner Janet Connor; his children: Veronique Wiebe (Dwayne) and Jozef Beaupre (Juliet Crisp) their mother Yolanda Beaupre, his siblings Therese Cerutti (Alfred), Evelyn Mctrowe (Doug), and John Beaupre (Doreen) as well Denis' extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Annette and Joseph Beaupre, his older brother Joe, and brother-in-law Doug.

He will be greatly missed within the downhill skiing community.

He was an active member in the Thunder Bay Skiing community as a racer, instructor, coach, board member, and judge. Since his retirement from OPG he has spent every possible day on the slopes. He has skied all over the world, made many lifelong friends and raised his children with skiing to be not only a sport but a way of life.

He had a vibrant career as a millwright, and always loved working on projects in the garage and the yard. He has spent his summers fishing, gardening and raising chickens alongside his loving partner Janet out in the countryside of the Slate River Valley. Denis will be dearly missed by Janets children; Jodi (Liz), Amy (Jay), Lee, and grandchildren; Seija, Suvi and Colbie.

He will be greatly missed by many.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life May 7th at the Neebing Roadhouse from 12 noon to 3 pm.

See you on the slopes Denis.

So sad to hear of Denis's passing. I knew him many years ago at Mt. McKay Ski Area. We all grew up living at the hill then.

Denis, a man who will be missed. I worked with him for years and when I had my own kids I realized I took a lot of what I learned from him through his fatherhood and applied it to my own family and we are better for it. Not to mention he was a talented millwright and had the great gift of being a genuinely good man. If he likes you he liked you forever. Never forgotten, he is 100% skiing the slopes wherever he is now.

Shocking to see this today as learning weeks ago. Denis is someone who always had time for a chat, a beer, a laugh or a story. This was a man who had shining pride for his kids and never stopped beaming when talking about them. I knew him through work and skiing but no matter where we ran into each other it was always a great reunion, his happiness in his family was evident in his excitement at what Janet was growing in the garden, what V had tattooed, what he and Joey were currently bingeing in feasting. The world has truly lost a great man.
