Dennis Comeau Obituary

The Comeau Family sadly announces the accidental death of their beloved son and brother, Dennis Joseph, on Thursday, October 5, 2000 in Duluth, Minnesota. Born in Toronto, on October 13, 1954, he attended St. James Elementary School. Upon arriving in Fort William with his family, Dennis attended Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute. After graduation, he was employed at the Ministry of Transportation as a surveyor. Several years later, Dennis obtained his Forestry Degree at Lakehead University. He was employed at the Ministry of Natural Resources working at the Fire Centre and previous to that the Tree Nursery in Thunder Bay. An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends fishing, hunting, skydiving and snowmobiling. Always a giving person Dennis volunteered his time coaching and officiating in track and field with the Thunder Bay Olympic Club. Left to mourn his passing are his parents Lorenzo (Larry) and Ursula Comeau, and brother Brian. Dennis is also survived by his Uncle Laurie, Aunt Lillian, cousin Marlene (Steve) and their son Brennan in Thunder Bay, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from across Canada and the United States. He was predeceased by his grandparents Honore and Leah Comeau and Pierre N. and Marie Gionet, Uncles Levi and Jean Paul Gionet and cousin Marc Comeau. Prayers will be held at Blake Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at St. Agnes Church at 12:10 p.m. and is to be celebrated by Father Francis Pudicherry. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital Trauma Fund, the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the charity of your choice.A tree will be planted in memory of Mr. Dennis Joseph Comeau in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 24, 2001."
