Dennis Hugh Walsh

1950 - 2015

Mr. Dennis Hugh Walsh, age 65 years, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on July 29, 2015 with friends and family by his side.

Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Britt Marjaana, sons Matthew and Jonathan (Shyann), as well as many other relatives and friends that would be too numerous to name.

Dennis was born February 27, 1950 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Andrew and Emma Walsh. He attended East York Collegiate in Toronto. He studied Journalism at Centennial College in Toronto. On July 23, 1977, he married Britt Marjaana (nee Lintunen) in Windsor, Ontario.

Dennis will be remembered as a very deep person of intellect, wisdom, and humour, a man with a heart of gold. He loved to share stories of his travels and from his early days as a singer/songwriter. He always treated people with kindness and love. Above all, he was a great encourager for all he came in contact with. Dennis enjoyed his work, self-employed, involved in numerous ventures. He was one of the leading voices in the sustainability/future cities movement.

An author of two books, Dennis loved to read and write, travel, and above all, spend time with family and friends. Dennis was a faithful and valued member of Saalem Church who was greatly involved in the music at the church.

A celebration of Dennis' life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Saalem Church, 21 Walkover Street, presided by Pastor Mika Kostamo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saalem Church.
