February 20, 1967 - December 2, 2025
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Dion Francis Boucher, age 58 years, a proud member of Fort William First Nation, suddenly in his home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Dion was born in Thunder Bay on February 20, 1967, and raised on the Fort William First Nation. He lived a life full of experience and was always the life of the party. Dion was a firefighter in his younger years, but really excelled as an Artist. He loved to do woodburning and made some masterpieces throughout his life. Dion was a friend to everyone and was always willing to give advice, encouragement and point you in the right direction. He was selfless and truly wanted the best for everyone, helping everyone he could in any way possible. Dion was a man who loved to have fun and make those around him laugh. His family was his biggest passion and loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as his little nieces and nephews. He was proud of his Native Culture and immersed himself in the Traditional teachings and ways of life. Dion's sense of humour, big heart and kindness will continue to be treasured in our hearts. He lived a good life and will be deeply missed by all.
Dion is survived by his daughter Natalia Collins (and her mother Luanne Maki); grandchildren Bailey Collins, Brooklyn Collins, Peyton Mason and Preston Collins; great-grandchildren Ciprian Atkinson, Lily Robinson and Nicholas Finlayson; his sister Jacqueline Brizard; nieces Ruby Ann Mitchell (Milo) and Kimberly Harper; great-nieces and nephews Deven, Daniel, Sasha, Kira, Allyisha, Elexa, Ethan Liam, Maisun and Theodore. He is also survived by his uncle, Dennis MacLaurin and numerous cousins and extended relatives.
He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Francis Boucher in 2005, mother, Brenda Joan Boucher in 2024 as well as his little brother, Gilbert Randall Boucher earlier this year in March.
Funeral services for Dion Boucher will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, when family and friends will gather in St. Anne's Mission Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 1:00pm celebrated by Father Biju Mathew. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery beside his brother and parents. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday evening in the Church, with Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00pm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
