Donald Alexander AustinIn loving memory of Don Austin who passed away unexpectedly in his home in Dryden on Friday April 12, 2013 at the age of 78.Donald Alexander Austin was born, January 27, 1935 in Dryden, Ontario. He was the seventh child of Kenneth Gordon Austin and Jean Elizabeth (nee Baker) Austin.Don was a long time resident of Dryden, most notably known for his work in Austin & Austin Realty Limited and the International Lions Club. In earlier years he served on the Dryden Town Council and the Conservative Party. Don was well known as a warm friend and fun natured man in the family and the community. He will be missed.Don was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Jean Austin, his brother Kenny in 1935 and sisters Marguerite Coombes in 1974, and Shirley Davies in 2010.Left to mourn are his children Lisa Austin of Dryden and Curtis Austin of Toronto, granddaughter Ashley Charbonneau of Dryden, sisters Helen Van Patter of Dryden, Ruth Gongos of Winnipeg and Marion McClelland of California Valley, CA, and numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held Thursday April 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion with Reverend Doug Wightman officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.If friends so desire donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Dryden Regional Health Centre Equipment Fund through the Stevens Funeral Homes P.O.
