Donald Hamilton Obituary

HAMILTON Donald Allen Mr. Donald Allen Hamilton passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2013 at the age of 81, at St. Joseph's Hospital with family by his side. Don was born in Fort William, Ontario on January 19, 1932, to James and Pearl Hamilton. Don worked most of his life for LeBrun Northern Contracting, retiring in 1998. He was a long time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793. Don is survived by his sons Edward (Glenda), Donny (Kelly), Bobby (Ivy), daughter Pearl Godin (Mike), brother Bruce "Kid" (Charmane), sisters Kay (Albert) and Joan (Harry) Mintenko. Grandchildren Shannon, Chris & Scott Hamilton; Shane Viens; Jason Godin; Natasha, Simone, Joseph, Tatyana "Bug" & Ava-Mari Hamilton. Don was predeceased by his parents, brothers Bill & Jack, son Ronny, his wife Johanna, daughter Mary & his girlfriend Shirley Thompson. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held in Mountain View Cemetery. You may have thought I didn't see, Or that I hadn't heard, Life lessons that you taught me, But I got every word. Perhaps you thought I missed it all, And that we'd grow apart, But Dad, I picked up everything It's written on my heart. Without you Dad I wouldn't be The man I am today; You built a strong foundation No one can take away. I've grown up with your values, And I'm very glad I did; So here's to you dear father, From your forever grateful kid. The Hamilton Family would like to thank the nurses at St. Joseph's Hospice for the excellent care. Also Father Nikolaos Tambakis for being there all hours of the night.
