Donald Post Obituary

Donald James Arthur Post, aged 86 years, passed away at the TBRHSC, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Don was born in Simcoe, Ontario. He came to Thunder Bay in the 60's, liked it so much he stayed.  He made many friends over the years. He was an outgoing person.

He liked to travel and his job included travel with Sysco Food Services. Don enjoyed curling in the winter, was an avid golfer in the summer. He would always find time to play golf on various courses in his travels. Don especially enjoyed playing many rounds of golf with his daughter Deanna - His Pride and Joy - as often as he could. When relaxing at home the Sports Channel was always on.

Don was well known and would always know someone wherever he went, that he would talk to and undoubtedly make them laugh. He was a confident man with a kind and warm heart and a twinkle in his eye.

Don belonged to the nonprofit organization ACT-United Commercial Travellers for 25 years and was recognized and awarded for his dedication and time.

Don will be missed by his wife Donna and daughter Deanna (Al Laine), sisters Dora, Carol, brother Larry, brothers-in-law George and Gordon and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by sisters Lois, Marlene, Lorraine, parents Courtland and Florence, sister-in-law Shirley.

As per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family gathering will take place at a later date. If friends so desire donations in memory of Don can be made to George Jeffries. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.

I´m very sorry to hear of Don´s passing. I will remember him as hard working, friendly, and full of mischief. He taught me how to use a pitching wedge to get up on the green. That was a valuable lesson. He will be missed.
