Doris Kozak Obituary
Mrs. Doris Kozak passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, February 14, 2002. Doris was born in Fort William and lived all her life in Thunder Bay. She was married to Alex Kozak in 1936. Doris worked at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital for over 20 years. Doris took an early retirement to enjoy her family and home. She volunteered at the 55 Plus Centre in the gift shop and was a member of the Fellowship Club at 55 Plus. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Alexina (Reg) Ouellet, Annette (Gerald) and son John (Irene) of Kenora, grandchildren Tom (Colleen) Speer, Jamie (Bridget) Speer of Vancouver, Gary Speer of Winnipeg, Dawnna Kozak, Terri Kozak and John (Sandy) Kozak of Kenora and great grandchildren Sean and Daniel Speer and Charles Kozak, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, especially Lila and Peter Mihaichuck and special friend Ernie Travolo. Doris was predeceased by her husband Alex, son George and great-grandson Ryan, mother and father Alexandra and John Ponto, sisters Silka Nachuk, Mary Whitney, and Lillian Zobatar, brothers Nick and George Ponto and niece Pearl Nachuk. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. A private family interment of cremains in Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the St. Joseph's Care Group, Westmount Site or the charity of your choice would be appreciated."
