Doris Lewis Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Doris Lewis, aged 91 years, resident of Thunder Bay, who passed away peacefully at TBRHSC on April 8th, 2014. She was born December 3rd, 1922 in Port Arthur to John and Esther Canal. Doris was a long time active member of St. Luke's Church and these past few years of St. Thomas' Church. Doris is survived by her sons: Larry (Patty), Randy (Kathy), daughter-in-law Marlene, daughter Lynda (Etienne), and brother Albert Canal of Calgary. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Lewis, whom she can now be with after thirty years. She was also sadly predeceased by her son Danny Lewis, and by her brothers Fred and Bob Taylor, Jack Canal, and her sister Lillian Thibault. A service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for Doris will be held on Saturday April 12th at 11am at St. Thomas' Church with the Rev. Doug McClure officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Centre, Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Luke's or St. Thomas' Church will be greatly appreciated by the family.
