CLARKE 1931-2023
Dorothy Anne Clarke, beloved wife of the late Robert Clarke, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Dorothy Anne will be remembered for her great sense of humor, generous nature, and loyalty as a friend. She had a vibrant personality that brightened the lives of those around her. Her warm and caring spirit made her an exceptional individual. Dorothy Anne dedicated her career to serving as a Special Education Teacher with The Lakehead Board of Education. Her passion for teaching and her commitment to helping others made a lasting impact on her students and colleagues. Outside of her professional life, Dorothy Anne cherished spending time at her favorite place, Silver Islet, surrounded by friends and family. It was there that she found solace and joy, creating beautiful memories that will be forever treasured. Dorothy Anne is survived by her loving son Darrell, her daughter Anne, and son-in-law Darryl Storey. She also leaves behind her brothers, Bruce Whyte of Ottawa and Darrell Whyte of Winnipeg. She is predeceased by her brother Ian Whyte. In accordance with Dorothy Anne's wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead a Celebration of Life will be held at Silver Islet at a later date, allowing friends and family to come together and honor her memory in a place she held dear. Dorothy Anne Clarke will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, laughter and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

My sincerest condolences. Mrs. Clarke was my Grade 6 teacher at Heath Park School in the early 60's. She was responsible for my classroom name change from Gerald to Gerry, that stuck for the rest of my life.
