1946
2021
t is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father Douglas William Cameron on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
Doug was born on December 29, 1946 and he was a firecracker from the get go. He had an early love for music and even managed some bands as a teenager. He was known by many a friend to be that guy in the leather jacket and combed back hair.
He then married his first love, Carolle Marie Paquette on May 24, 1967, and together they raised three children.
He worked at Abitibi Paper Mill in Thunder Bay, Ontario his entire life providing for his family.
Doug was fondly known as Mr. C around the neighbourhood, because he had the latest video games, always loved to have people over and loved to make people laugh and have a good time around him.
After Doug lost his first wife Carolle to Cancer, he was able to find another soulmate in Barb, where they remained married until she sadly passed from Cancer on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
Douglas cared about his family above everything else. He was always proud of the achievements of his children and supported them all equally. He will be missed for his laughter and stories that never seemed to end.
Doug is survived and lovingly remembered by his children Doug Jr, Wendy and William Cameron along with Grandsons Alex, Zach, Colton, Caden and Granddaughter Victoria as well as countless other nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
He is predeceased by his wife Barb Cameron and Carolle Cameron as well as his parents Sheila and Bill Cameron.
Cremation has taken place. Private interment to take place at Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Harbourview Funeral Centre.

Doug was a large and vibrant personality, but also had a soft side and was very kind. I always enjoyed his sense of humour and have fond memories of him and Carolle and the kids attending every year at Auntie Joyce's house on Christmas Eve. He was always very good to me (as was Carolle). Doug was a great man and will be sorely missed. My condolences and condolences from the Cameron family to Billy, Wendy and Dougie Jr.
