SEABROOK
It is with great sadness that the family of Earl Calvin Seabrook announce his passing at the Nipigon District Hospital on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 97 years. Cal was born on July 16, 1928. In 1959, he and his wife Betty were on their way to move to Quesnel, BC from their hometown in Thessalon, ON. They had stopped in Nipigon along the way and when Cal was out smelt fishing, he broke his ankle. He says he has been in Nipigon ever since! Cal had a career working in the bush and for a few years at the Red Rock mill. When he retired at 60, he and Betty enjoyed travelling across Canada in their fifth wheel. They even made it all the way North to Alaska! One of his favourite pastimes with his wife Betty was square dancing. He was the beloved husband for 66 years to the late Elizabeth "Betty" Seabrook. The loving father of Keven (Donna) Seabrook of Thunder Bay, Wendy (Peter) Seabrook of Thunder Bay, Sandra (late Jim) Bonde of Thunder Bay and Earline (Late Ralph) Whitfield of Thessalon. He was a proud grandfather of Angela, Craig, Michelle, Michael, Becky Ann, Dennis, Tanya, and Jessica Kris, 26 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren and one great, great, great grandchild. He is also survived by sister Ilene (Wayne) Cole and sister-in-law Barb Hicks. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A special thank you to the Sargent & Funeral Chapel and staff at the Nipigon Hospice for all their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a service and interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street.
