It is with great sorrow, that the family of Edith Mary Todd, age 86 years, announces her sudden passing Sunday, November 4th, 2007, with her family by her side. Mom will be sadly missed by her sons, Barry (Kathy) Victoria, B.C. , Geoff (Val) Thunder Bay, Jim (Donna) Winnipeg, along with her grandchildren, Karen, Amy, Laura, Michael, Colin, and Jim Jr. , along with her 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Sr. , in February of this year, her first grandchild, John age 22, and her brother-in-law Gordon. In 1954 she immigrated to Fort William from Great Britain with her family. She was employed at Palmer's Lunch prior to owning Todd's Restaurant, adjacent to the Odeon Theatre from 1962 until 1968. She also took in student boarders from Confederation College for a few years. Edith became an avid curler becoming President of the Fort William Ladies Curling Club 1988-89. For the last 37 years, Edith and Jim's passion was owning and training Black Labrador Retrievers. They were ardent members of both the Lakehead Retriever Club and the Central Minnesota Retriever Club, winning many awards along the way. Her two labs, Mister and Catcher, have been her constant companions. Her many interests, apart from her family, ranged from gardening, knitting, and making specialty meals for her family and friends. The family wishes to extend our thanks to the ICU staff at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to a charity of their choice would be appreciated. A celebration of Edith's life will take place in the Madrid Room, Airlane Travel Lodge at 2pm, Thursday, November 8th 2007 Online condolences may be made through
