Edmond Sabourin Obituary
The Sabourin family wishes to announce the passing of Ted on Wednesday, December 20. He has left to continue his great life in heaven alongside the love of his life, Barbara. Born in Port Arthur, raised in Fort William, Ted attended St. Patrick's School, the Vocational School, and St. Paul's Jesuit High School in Winnipeg. His initial entry into the workforce was with Mahon Electric and Chapple's Department Stores. In 1959 he joined National Revenue Taxation. A few years later, he was one of 33 Taxation employees, from across Canada, to be transferred to Ottawa either as an analyst or programmer to initiate the Taxation Computer Services Department. He thrived in the computer environment which led to Directorships at D.S.S., the Public Service Commission, and the Treasury Board. He accepted a buyout from the Public Service in December 1985. Ted is survived by his children; James (Norma); Richard (Miriam); Katherine; Kenneth (Dina); grandchildren, Quinton (Nika); Patrick; Dane (Janice); Kaitlin (Nick); Joel; Braden; Ethan; Ella; Michael, and great-grandchildren Max and Aleksander, his brother Paul (Louise); his sister-in-law, Margaret; his brother-in-law, James McComb, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Eucher (52) in 1950; his mother, Kathleen (106) in 2004, his brother Bernard in 2016. In memoriam, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to your local United Way, St. Paul's High School, 2200 Grant Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3P 0P8 or give the gift of life and become a blood donor.

So sorry for your loss. I know your hearts are very heavy in losing your dad. Teddy brought such happiness in his chats with mom, Joan Murphy. We were saddened to hear of Ted's passing. Barbara and he were always so kind and welcoming during our time in Ottawa. He will be missed by all the those who had the pleasure to have known him. Our deepest sympathies.

Aside from being a great volunteer, Ted was one of the most pleasant people to chat with at Hylands Golf Course. My sincere condolences to the family.

Ted sold me my first car, in 1969 when I had just immigrated from the UK. I worked with him in the Systems Directorate for what is now called CRA. I paid him $300.00 for a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 with 66,000 miles on it. I got married in it in the following year in Regina to my first wife Maureen and we took it on our honeymoon all the way out to Tofino on Vancouver Island and then back to Ottawa. In the following year we drove it out to St. Johns Newfoundland and back. It was the best car I ever owned. Thanks Ted, hope the journey you are on now is as thrilling.

Dear Kathy, Jim, Rick and Ken
I am so sad to read of your father's passing. He and your mom and your grandmother were some of the most special people I have known. They raised a beautiful family. I always enjoyed spending time in the loving, happy home they created and have many fond memories. The joy they had for life may leave a hole in yours' now that they are both gone, but I hope that the deep love they had for each of you and for each other sustains you going forward.
