Eleanor Gvora Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Eleanor Gvora on September 28, 2017 at the TBRHSC. Eleanor was born on March 8, 1934 in Fort William. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her working career was mostly spent at Clow Darling Mechanical. She enjoyed reading a good book, and was a great cook, especially at Christmas Time. She invested and watched the Stock Market on television for countless hours. She enjoyed visiting the casino to play her favourite game, Blackjack. She made frequent trips to Madeira Beach Florida with Dad. After retirement, Mom loved to go to California and stay with her youngest Michelle and Family.

Family meant everything to her. United in marriage for 62 years, she went on to raise a family of six. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband Peter (Peppy), sons, David (Elena), Barry (Debbie), Randy, and daughters Lori Ann and Michelle (Rob), grandchildren David (Andrea), Justin, Jennifer, Mitchell, Nicole (Adam), Tyler, Brandon, and Ashley, great grandchildren Mason and Meya, and brother Larry (Lilly). She was predeceased most recently by her loving daughter Karen, parents Caroline and Walter Buttman, and sister Delores.

Special thanks to the ICU Unit at the TBRHSC, Dr. Arora, Dr. Ahmed, Dr. Shabazi, Dr. MacDonald, Dr. Cullinan, Dr. Krupa and Dr. Valente. Thanks for the extra care in the final days from nurses Nancy, Mike, Suzanne, and Amanda. Finally, an extra special thanks to the Renal Staff who treated mom for the last 4 years with dignity and care.

Mom's wishes were to be cremated with a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the TBRHSC Renal Services.

My deepest condolences to the entire family, especially Mr Gvora. I remember coming over to the house and Mrs Gvora fussing over us. I am still finding it hard to come to grips with Karen's passing as I am sure the whole family is as well. May you all find comfort in knowing they are with God and are at peace.
