ELEANOR LANGEVIN
Eleanor "Ellie" Zelinski Langevin passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home in Thunder Bay, Ontario, on June 22, 2023. Ellie was born in Port Arthur in 1930 to Mary and Ed Zelinski, the first of four children, and lived on Algoma Street until she married Ray Langevin in 1955. The newlyweds moved to Quebec and then to the United States where they raised their five children in Michigan and North Carolina, ultimately providing each with the opportunity to obtain a university education. Eventually retiring in North Carolina, Ellie loved sitting on the porch of her house on Pebble Beach Road in Sanford, looking out over the 16th green. She was an amazing seamstress, piano player and avid reader. She loved completing the crossword puzzle every day at her kitchen table and noticed every beautiful bird that passed by the window or went swimming in the bird bath. In 2019, Ellie returned home to Thunder Bay and moved into Bethammi Nursing Home in 2020. She loved the staff who made her so content in her final years and they loved her back. She made everyone laugh with her feisty personality and funny stories. Ellie is survived by her five children, Monique Love (Randy); Denise Hudson (Ed); Nanette Henry (Jim); Bob Langevin; and Janine Black (Brian), as well as thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ellie's family deeply appreciates the care and love that the 2rd Floor Bethammi Team gave her over the past three years. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
