Elli Lehtomaa Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our sister, aunt, and friend, Elli Elisabeth Lehtomaa, age 76 years, on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Elli was born on January 27, 1941 in Rauto, Finland and moved to Thunder Bay in 1956. She was a hard worker who loved her job as a custodian in which she worked for over 30 years. Elli will always be remembered for her generosity and loving nature, especially towards her nieces, nephews and her dog Gizmo. She loved her time at the farm with her family.
Elli will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters Elsa Korpela and Tuula Hill, brother Alpo (Laila) Kuoppala, many nieces, nephews, and relatives in Finland, as well as friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Aili and Arvo Kuoppala, brothers Jack, Pekka, Pentti, and Antti, and sisters Eva Saarinen and Eila Hautimaki.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, October 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Ed Long. Visitation will begin one hour prior, at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow the reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elli may be made to a charity of your choice.

The sad news that Elli has passed away have reached the relatives here in Finland.
