ELWOOD PETTIT Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elwood Roy Pettit on July 16, 2025, at the age of 81. Elwood was born on April 11, 1944 in Fort William, Ontario to Chesley and Kathleen Pettit.

Elwood was an amazing husband to Linda Pettit and an incredible father to 2 wonderful children, Joseph Pettit and Suzanne Faber. He was notably the best "Popo" to Noah Faber, as the only grandchild. Family was always important to Elwood "Woody", and regardless of the shift work as a firefighter, always made time for camping, road trips and spending time with family doing all kinds of fun things around the acreage: from gardening, motorbikes, dune buggies, skiing at the local mountain and tinkering in the garage.

Elwood was a machinist, mechanic, Firefighter and jack of all trades. He could fix anything and spent a lot of time in the garage inventing things or creating something he needed, from a large inventory of parts from his favorite shopping spot up Barrie Drive.

Preceded by: Mother & Father, Chesley and Kathleen Pettit and his sister Erma Moro.

Survived by: wife Linda Pettit, son Joseph Pettit (Judy), daughter Suzanne Faber (Jason), grandson Noah Faber, step grandsons Nicholas and Ethan Faber, sister Arlene Aird (Ken) and so many friends and family.

Elwood will be missed by everyone who knew him as a pillar in the community of Slate River, an "unc" to some, father figure to others, and just an amazing family man.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alberta Children's Hospital. https://www.childrenshospital.ab.ca/ways-to-help/donate/

There will be no service at this time, but a Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

Linda & family: How devastated I was for all of you to read of Elwood´s death. I couldn´t come up with an address for you yet I know where your home and mailbox is. If it is any consolation to you, just know that I will keep you all in my prayers as you begin a long road of healing from this loss of husband, dad, grandpa. Carol
