It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Erle (Murray) King. Murray was born on July 30, 1923 in Neebing Township (Fort William) Ontario, worked in the family dairy (King's Dairy) for 23 years and was a founding member of Pinegrove United Church. In 1971 he moved his family to Cranbrook where he worked at Crestbrook Pulp Mill until he retired in 1988.Murray served in the Navy in World War II and was a long time Legion member. In his younger years, Murray coached baseball and hockey. After retiring, he took up golfing and some of his happiest moments were early morning golf games with his good friend John. Some of Murray's favourite pastimes were curling, playing cards, camping, traveling, and watching hockey. He especially loved to watch his grandsons play hockey. He spent many hours in hockey rinks around the country cheering on their teams. His most precious times were the times he spent with his friends and family. He was especially proud of all his grandchildren and loved to spend as much time with them as possible.Besides his own grandchildren, he was known as "Grandpa Murray" to many other children. His engaging grin and his friendly attitude were a welcome pleasure to us all.He will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
