FAYE MAHON Obituary
FAYE ELLA MAHON (nee PARROTT)
Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 29, 1927, Faye passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Faye was survived by her son Ken (deceased on November 7, 2025). She is also survived by her brother Nelson Parrott (Shirley). Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Faye was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, son Don, her parents Matthew and Marjorie Parrott, by her brother John Parrott, sisters Iris Karam (Russell) and Ruby Morton (Jack). Faye grew up on the family farm in Grandview Manitoba surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. After high school, at the invitation of an aunt and uncle she went to Winnipeg to become a hairdresser and upon graduation moved to Port Arthur, Ontario where her mother's family lived. As fate would have it, one of her clients invited her to a birthday party, where she met her future husband, Lloyd Mahon. Together they raised two sons, Ken and Don. They enjoyed entertaining, travelling, and spending the summers at their cottage on Sunnyside Beach. In their later years, they lived in a semi-rural home on Wardrobe Avenue, where Faye enjoyed spending time with nature, including deer, bears and foxes. For many years, Faye cared for Lloyd after he had a series of strokes, and for their beloved Cairn terriers. Prior to living at Hogarth, Faye resided at the Good Shepherd Village. As per her wishes, a private service was held. Burial took place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thunder Bay, ON. The family would like to thank the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor for the care they gave Faye over the past five plus years. Donations in memory of Faye Mahon can be made to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society (1535 Rosslyn Rd., Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 6W2).
