Fern Cook

Fern Marie Cook, age 77 years, a resident of 213-130West Donald Street, passed away in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday May 25, 2011. Fern was born August 30, 1933 in Port Arthur, ON. She was married to Clifton Cook and together had five children. Fern will be lovingly remembered by her children: Raymond (Kathy) Cook, Cathy Briggs, Susan (Jamie) Groom, Debbie Franklin, and Leslie (Mandy) Cook; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters: Florence Ojala, Myrtle Hayward; and special niece Pat McFarlane. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her siblings Bert Hymers and Opal Gudmundson. Following cremation, Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the O'Connor Community Centre on HWY 595, Thunder Bay. Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Fern's memory to the George Jeffrey Children's Centre or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Thunder Bay Chapter.
