FILOMENA FUTIA N MICHELIZZI
It is with deep sadness that the family of Filomena Michelizzi announce her passing on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Genoa Italy.
Born November 25,1930 in Siderno Marina, Italy to parents Fortunato & Angela Futia. Devoted wife, mother, Nonna & Bisnonna, her family was most important in her life. Her grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren brought such laughter and joy through FaceTime that filled her heart.
Her strong faith gave her strength through many challenges during her life. When she was unable to attend mass, she listened to the service on her TV and recited her rosary daily.
She lived a good long life almost reaching 95, and for that we are grateful for the time and memories we shared together.
Lovingly remembered by her 3 sons: Giovanni, Fortunato (Palmira), Salvatore (Monica); grandchildren: Robert (Rosie), Manuela (Byron), Daniela (Bryan); great-grandchildren: Marianna, Mirella, Emilia, Marcello, Henry, Amaria; brothers Francesco (Rita) Futia, sisters-in-law Ada Futia, Rita Futia; niece Angela Racco (Tony); nephew Fortunato Futia; Compare Cosimo Racco. Numerous relatives in Italy, USA and Australia.
Predeceased by her husband Letterio, son Roberto, her parents, brothers Giuseppe, Domenico & Vincenzo Futia and nephew Cosimo Racco.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday October 9, 2025 - 7:00 pm at St Dominic's Church, 130 Redwood Avenue.
