Flemming Hald Obituary

Mr. Flemming Hald's Interment will be held on September 16, 2014, 3:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3200 Oliver Road at 3:00 pm. Following the internment will be a get together to celebrate Flemming's life with friends and family at the Royal Canadian Legion Slovak Branch, 801 Atlantic Avenue, 4 - 7 pm. Flemming immigrated from Denmark with his parents and brothers when he was four years old. Throughout his life he was a mentor, teacher, friend and adventurer. He chose a life for himself that was not for the timid, proudly serving the people of Ontario as a Thunder Bay Police officer and later as an OPP officer. Diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis on December 1, 2009. Flemming never gave up his fight to live. On January 13, 2013, Flemming underwent a lung transplant at the Toronto General Hospital. Unfortunately he suffered numerous complications and despite his valiant efforts and the very best and constant efforts of the transplant team, doctors, nurses transplant coordinators, PCA's and his ever loving and supportive family and friends, Flemming lost his battle to live "just a little bit longer" on December 13, 2013. Flemming Hald's family looks forward to welcoming friends to a celebration of a life well lived."
