FRANCES SERAFINI Obituary

FRANCES (FRAN) SERAFINI
Mrs. Frances (Fran) Serafini, aged 72, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 24, 2025

Born in Port Arthur, Ontario, on August 11, 1953 to Maria (Mary) and Franciszek (Frank) Siedlikowski, she was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Hammarskjold High School in 1970 and went on to work in the office there. In 2018 she retired from Tbaytel, after 12 loyal years.

In 1974, Fran married the love of her life, Michele (Mike) Serafini and they then went on to having their two greatest blessings - John in 1975, and Marianna in 1979. In 2005, she was further blessed with her only grandchild - Arabella (Belle).

Fran was the glue of the family. Her family was always her greatest pride and joy throughout her entire life. She always enjoyed having regular Sunday dinners and big family get-togethers, with dozens of dishes. Whether it was making 'Nana's Famous Apple Sauce' or her beloved biscotti, she was always in the kitchen making something yummy.

She always enjoyed her daily evening coffee, whether that be with or without her dynamite chocolate cake. The kitchen was her favourite place to be - baking, cooking, re-arranging her pantry, and puttering around with a variety of containers. She also enjoyed having her herb garden in the backyard, which she would pick at daily, and was always awed by her flowers or any flowers sent her way.

Anyone who know Fran, knew about her obsession of Elvis Presley and her love of The Golden Girls. Before her passing, she was able to attend 'The Golden Girls; The Laughs Continue Tour', at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Fran also enjoyed travelling with Marianna, whether it be for fun or to attend VIP II Volo concerts.

She always made sure her family was taken care of before herself, whether that be taking care of all the paperwork for the family business, or always making time for Belle.

Survived by her children John Serafini (Pamela) and Marianna Serafini; her Granddaughter Arabella Serafini; brother Stanley (Shelley) Siedlikowski; sister Sophie (Ron) Olsen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Thunder Bay, and numerous family members in B.C., Montreal, and various locations in Italy.

Predeceased by her parents Franciszek (Frank) and Maria (Mary) Siedlikowski, along with her husband Michele (Mike) Serafini.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Serafini will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 with family and friends gathering in St. Mary's Our Lady Queen of Poland Church, for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, celebrated by Fr. Piotr Dudek. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday evening, September 30, 2025 in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma with Vigil Prayers offered at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation - organizations held near and dear to Fran's heart.

Fran was more than a coworker; she was a friend. We did the travel thing ,,, cars, planes, but no trains to a few communities. She was an organizer and up for an adventure. Rest in peace, friend.
