Frances Soer Obituary
Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Soer (nee Ferguson), aged 80 years, passed away peacefully at TBRHSC on September 9, 2017. Frances was born in Fort William, Ontario on January 19, 1937, fourth daughter to Frankie and William Ferguson. She received both her public and high school education locally, graduating from Selkirk Vocational High School. Frances married Volli Soer on September 9, 1960. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on the day of her passing. Frances worked at several jobs during her career, including CN Rail, the Oredock, and retiring from the Brewers Retail head office (Thunder Bay) in 2002. She also worked at Riverview Raceways selling tickets for the stock car races for her sister and brother-in-law. Frances enjoyed spending time at their family camp at Kabigon Bay in Shebandowan. She liked country western music, enjoyed her Wednesday nights out with her bowling gang at the Galaxy, and swimming and partying with her neighbours, the Gavins, at the pool. When she was in good health, she looked forward to her trips to Victoria to visit her niece, Lorraine and Dick. Frances was a very sociable and outgoing person who enjoyed life. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Frances is survived by her husband Volli; daughters Wanda and Brenda; step brother-in-law and wife Rein and Gerry Andresen. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her mother Frankie Ferguson, her father William Ferguson and three sisters Madeline Kerr, June Hayne and Grace Bernosky. On her husband's side her father-in-law Voldemar and step mother-in-law Ellen. A special thank you to the "two muskateers" for always being there for our mom and the family. Thank you to the Gavins, Karen, Joan and Nancy for all their support, Dianne and Len for their prayers and pancakes and long-time family friend Ray Smith. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses in Emergency and Floor 1A for making her final days peaceful along with her family doctor, Dr. Mangatal. Cremation has taken place and a gathering for family and friends to celebrate Frances' life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the Tiberio A room at the Airlane from 1 - 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I am, only now, learning of her death offer my sympathy and prayers to Wanda, Brenda and Mr. Soer. I had the pleasure to know the family in the 80´s - partly from a shared equestrian interest with Wanda.
