FRANCES SANTINA WAINIO
On November 25, 2024, Frances Wainio age 73 years passed away at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with her husband, daughters and sisters at her side. Born in 1951 in Grimaldi, Cosenza Italy, she immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her mother and siblings joining her father in Port Arthur/Thunder Bay where she lived most of her entire life.

Frances was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister, very protective of her family and will be sorely missed.

Frances is survived by her Husband: David; Daughters: Nancy Maxsom (Chris) and Lesley Wainio (Steve Gerow); Grandchildren: Isaac and Raya Maxsom; Sisters: Mary Lachimea, Alba Gibbons (Robert), and Nina Foti (Joseph); Brother-in-law: Derrick Wainio (Tanya); and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Frances was predeceased by her parents Antonio and Santina Chiarelli; Brother-in-law: Jimmy Lachimea.

Following Frances's wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no funeral.

Special thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses and support staff who were relentless and heroic in trying to save Frances. We are all very fortunate to have such highly skilled and compassionate professionals at Thunder Bay Regional.
