Fred Baker Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Fred Baker announce his passing on December 23, 2020, at the age of 84, at St. Joseph's Hospice. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, June (Halford), children: Susan, Allan (Rhonda), Dan, and Lindsay (Kyle), grandchildren: James (Rosamaria), Katie (Jason), Evan, and Bailey, and great-grandchildren: Jessie and Janelle. Also mourning Fred's passing are his sisters Marjorie Stephen, Marilyn Kosolowski, and Nancy Taylor (Anthony) as well as his sister-in-law, Pat Davis. Those who knew Fred will always remember his charm and quick wit, his kindness and compassion, his genuine ways and endearing stories. As a counsellor he impacted many lives and was an exceptional listener, always willing to help those in need. Fred had a quiet, unwavering inner strength and deep faith which gave him solace in life. Despite facing a number of health challenges, Fred remained steadfast and positive, deeply grateful for all he had been blessed with in life. He was especially grateful for his loving family and many dear friends. Father Victor DeGagne conducted a private service for the immediate family on December 30, 2020. A formal funeral and celebration of life will take place in 2021 when it is safe for friends and family to gather together. A full obituary will also follow at a later date. If friends so wish, donations can be made to T.B.R.H.S.F. Cardiovascular Surgery Fund, or St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
