Freda Brewer

1928 - 2021

Freda Brewer (Anderson) passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospital with her son by her side.

Freda was born on April 23, 1928, in Norquay, Saskatchewan to parents Hans and Jonetta (Hanson) Anderson and married to Robert Brewer on April 6, 1956. Her passion for travel started early and she lived in many places often with one of her beloved sisters throughout Canada before finally settling in Thunder Bay. Her love of travel, her family and close friends continued throughout her life, she was often visiting family across Canada or with spending winters in warmer climates like Texas or Barbados.

She is survived by her son Robert Brewer (Donna), grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Meservia, Kevin (Melanie) Brewer, great-grandchildren Sarah & Emily Meservia, and sister-in-law June (Hawkins) Brewer along with a great many cherished nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband Robert (Bob) Brewer, daughter-in-law Sheila Brewer (Kernaghan), parents Hans and Jonetta (Hanson) Anderson, all of her siblings: Clarence, Elmer, Huldus (Holm), Hazel (Peacock), Needa (Johnson), Thea (Hanson), Sophie (Law), Ruby (George), also her brother-in-law, Francis (Mike) Brewer and sister-in-law Margaret Burtt and her husband Robert Burtt.

A big thank you to all the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in 5 South and Hospice care for the wonderful care they gave Freda and her family. Freda has been cremated and a private family interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
