GALE WELSH
With broken hearts, we announce that Gale Welsh, at the age of 66, passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on September 27, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. Gale enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her cat, cooking, travelling, quilting and watching the Blue Jays. She worked at the Brick for over 30 years and celebrated her retirement last year. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Welsh, sister Janet Gunn (Tedd), nephew Dr. Patrick Allison, step-son Shaun Welsh, granddaughter Trinity Hebert (Karson Holland), grandson Caleb Hebert, great-grandson Kaycee and her beloved cat, Pebbles. Gale was predeceased by her daughter Jessica Charry, father Eino Ojala, mother Helvi Robblee, sister Denise Ojala and brother Darcy Ojala. Special thanks to her best friends Val Warner, Shannon Owen and Janie Komoski for being there for her when she needed them or simply needed to be cheered up and to the staff at the Thunder Bay Cancer Clinic, Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and St. Joseph's Palliative Care Unit. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society.

Condolences to Gale's family and friends. My fondest memories are times we shared as children. I always appreciated Gale's hospitality when visiting in Thunder Bay. Rest in peace my little cousin
