It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garry Steppler on February 24, 2026. Born in Miami, Manitoba, to Arnold and Edna Steppler, Garry grew up working on the family farm before trading the fields for a career in finance.

He later returned to his professional roots at Dunwoody Chartered Accountants and Bearskin Airlines, where he worked until retirement.
In his later years, Garry found joy in the simple pleasures of life: his meticulous garden, travelling with his wife Joan, and the company of his grandchildren.

Our father kept a garden. A garden of the heart; He planted all the good things, That gave our lives their start. He turned us to the sunshine, And encouraged us to dream: Fostering and nurturing The seeds of self-esteem. And when the winds and rain came, He protected us enough; But not too much because he knew We would stand up strong and tough. His constant good example, Always taught us right from wrong; Markers for our pathway that will last a lifetime long. We are our Fathers garden, We are his legacy. Thank you Dad we love you.
A celebration of Garry's life will be held at a later date.
