Gary passed away quietly and peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2017 in his 81st year. Loving husband of the late Marjory Cheney. Loving father of Johanne Fesko (Mark), Carol Dubas (Mark), and Karen Cartier (Daryll). Much loved Grandpa of Neill Fesko, Jacob Cartier, Julia and Sara Dubas. At Gary's request a private service has taken place. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522).

Sorry to hear of your Dads passing . We go back to the old North Star Era on Memorial Ave in Thunder Bay ,and then had many good years with Shell Oil .
Your Dad was one of a kind ,who always knew what to do in an emergency and always laughed when the pressure was off ! We had many good times together !
He and your Mom were a match made in heaven ,We enjoyed our few visits when passing through the Sault reminiscing about old times in Thunder Bay ! Thank goodness for the memories!

Sincerest Condolences to theCheney family.
I worked with Gary aka: "LON" FROM "THE WOLFMAN" Cheney actor fame; at the time Shell created the CMR Retail Department way back in the early 1990's..
Gary had a dry sense of humour and was a pleasure to be around.. Gary and I weren't great "orators" so we were always given hospitality duties at major Shell functions. Our best ( most fun) job was to host a tour of the lake @ Dear Hearst Resort, Huntsville, Ontario. WE COULD KEEP EVERYONE HAPPY WITH SMALL TALK, IF BEER WAS INVOLVED.
With Gary's bad back and my bad knees we weren't great golfer's so we always opted for FISHING on activity days @ Shell 3 day meetings. Best memory was catching fish in Lake Michigan and listening to Gary chastise Bill McAllister( a fellow Shell Employee) who had trouble interpreting our American guide. Gary was merciless in his attempts to get Bill to say the guide's name right while I rolled in the boat with laughter...YES ALCOHOL MAY HAVE BEEN INVOLVED....AGAIN!!
Good Bye dear friend. It has been way to long since we met and talked....Maybe we can "fish again" on the other side.

Sad to hear of the passing of my old friend & colleague. Gary & I worked together in Retail, & shared many good times together at Shell meetings & other events over the years.
