Gary Goose Obituary

1952–2016
Gary passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with his family by his side on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at the age of 63. Gary recently retired after spending over 45 years as a well known Class A Mechanic in the Westfort area of Thunder Bay. He was a kind, loving man with a heart of gold. Gary was always willing to listen or help others in any way he could no matter the circumstance. He spent everyday living life to the fullest doing the things he loved. Whether it was fixing vehicles, visiting family or lifelong friends, to simply relaxing in his garage with a drink listening to Jimmy Buffett. He always did it on his terms with a smile on his face. Gary embraced anyone that wanted to join him. Everyone was welcome, his only request.... Enjoy yourselves "We're here for a good time, not a long time." Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years Susan, sons Steven (Addie), Micheal (Paula) twin grandsons Malcolm and Nolan and newest addition Evan; mother Dorothy Goose; siblings Joanne Sigus, Linda Turner (Bob), Jim (Donna), David (Karen), Kathy Lark (Cal) and many extended family. Predeceased by father Malcolm, father and mother in-law Peter and Anne Picklyk, brothers-in-law Enno (Sag) Sigus and Peter Picklyk. A Celebration of Gary's life will be held at the place he loved most... his home and "Gary's garage" 518 Westminster Street on Saturday, June 11th. Come and go commences at 1:00pm. If friends desire donations may be made to Northern Cancer Fund "Alex's Cut for Cancer" www.bit.ly./alexcuts. The Goose family would like to thank the hardworking and passionate staff of the ICU. Special thanks to Drs. George and Ahmed and nurses Tiana, Heather and Rachel for their personal acts of kindness.

“And though I cried, I was proud to love a man so rare.”
