Gary Donald Jorgensen age 57 years, a resident of Thunder Bay and former resident of Nipigon, passed away in hospital, Thursday, August 19, 2004. Born in Port Arthur and raised in Nipigon, Gary received his schooling in Nipigon and Red Rock, then attended George Brown College in Toronto and studied Math and Economics at Lakehead University. Gary worked as a commission salesman specializing in building and renovations at Beaver Lumber on Memorial Avenue for many years. Gary was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed the many fishing and hunting trips that he took with his friends and family. Gary was a great fan of the Montreal Canadians hockey team and spent many Saturday nights cheering them on. In his later years, he became an avid gardener. Gary is survived by his mother Lena Faubert, daughter Karlee Jorgensen, Bev and numerous other relatives and close friends. Gary was predeceased by his father Aage Jorgensen, 1955, step-father Len Faubert, 1988, sister Marlene Sandberg, 2002 and a sister in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Lapolla c.s. of St. Dominic's Church officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. If friends desire, memorials in memory of Gary can be made to Sister Margaret Smith Centre-St. Joseph's Care Group, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Gary Jorgensen in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
