George Burns Obituary
Mr. George Burns age 78 years of Terrace Bay passed away after a brief illness at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with his family by his side.George was born in Dryden Ont. on March 21, 1926. He lived in Wabagoon until the age of 16 yrs. when he moved to Schreiber to work for C.P. Rail. George worked for C.P. Rail for 24 yrs. as well as served with the Canadian Army. George married Marion Alice Ashlee in 1949 and in 1967 they moved their family to Terrace Bay. George worked for the Terrace Bay High School and Terrace Recreation Center and finally for Kimberly Clark. George had many interests including camping, fishing and would read anything he could get his hands on. Georgeloved to travel and would drive anywhere that Marion co-piloted too. Georgereally enjoyed all family get-togethers.George will be lovingly missed by his wife Marion of 56 yrs. his children, Leonard (Louise), Philip (Mary Pat), Katherine (Robert) and Martin Brady (Lois). George will also be sadly missed by his grand children Treena-Lynn, Amanda, Kelly Ann, Kimberly, Chelsea, Kyle and Ashlee, as well as his great- grand child, Kiarra and his step-grand children, Michael, Kimberly, Cara and Kristi. George will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters Edith FioRito, Lil (Bob) Arndt and BarbaraNelson. He was predeceased by his Mother, SigneErickson and his Father, Edward. A memorial service will be held for George on Friday August 27, 2004 beginning at 11:00 am. atthe Terrace Bay Community Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the King Funeral Home in Schreiber. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Diabetes Society, the Terrace Bay Community Church or the McCausland Hospital Long Term Care Project would be appreciated."
