George Einarson Obituary

1952 – 2022

Mr. George Edwin “Eddie” Einarson, age 70 years, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at home on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Eddie was born August 18, 1952 in Beardmore, Ontario, the first born of six children.

Eddie's early years were spent in Geraldton and Schreiber where many adventures and fun times were had growing up in small towns. The family moved to Fort William in 1965 where he completed his schooling. Eddie joined the Cadets and that was his next big adventure travelling the world loving to bring back gifts for his family and friends.

Eddie was affectionately referred to by many as Fred aka Fast Freddie especially by his friends on the pipeline. Eddie worked most of his life at various pipeline projects all across Canada. His favorite saying was to “throw his mail out anywhere along the TransCanada highway and he would pick it up when passing by”.

He had a love for the outdoors, especially fishing which he shared with the love of his life Betty (his Betty Boop) and his two boys, Jared and Kyle. Many good times were had camping and fishing at Lac des Mille Lac.

Eddie loved to laugh and make others laugh. Telling jokes and rounding up friends and family to head out to the local comedy club was his thing. He was most often the one laughing the loudest, even at his own jokes.

Eddie was meticulous about his vehicles. As a young man he owned two hot rods, a blue duster and a Z28 Camaro of which back then, he'd convince one of his younger siblings to keep them spotless for him.

Eddie loved to work with his hands and when he was home from working the pipeline he renovated parts of his home inside and out. He was always coming up with ideas.

Eddie loved his companion who was with him right to the end; his beautiful German shepherd affectionately known as “little fast Freddie”.

Eddie will be sadly missed by his sons Jared (Ashley Spivak) and Kyle; grandchildren Luca Einarson and Elise Zita Spivak-Einarson; his siblings Cindy Napierala (Peter), Jimmy, Terri DeGagne (Lawrence), Joanie Einarson (Guil Perreault); sister-in law Donna Einarson, Susan Andrusco and Carol Hornung (Brian) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Elise (nee Perling); mother Joysaleen “Joyce” (nee Johnson) and father Frederick “Jim” Einarson; brother Laing Einarson; parents-in-law Bill and Zita Perling; brother-in-law Norman Anderson and sister-in law Janet Anderson.

A Celebration of Life for Eddie will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Eddie's memory to Ducks Unlimited Canada.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.

Eddie will be forever remembered
and eternally loved by his family.
