George Windrem Obituary

Mr. George Albert Windrem, born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, age 82 years of R.R. #17 - 185 Highgate Rd. passed away in Calgary, Alberta at the Bethany Care Center on Thursday, September 19, 2002. George after becoming ill, stayed at the St. Joseph's Care Group (Hospital) until his children came to take him to Calgary, Alberta where they lived and could provide his support and care in his time of need. George worked at the railroad, Canada Car and the shipyard for the better part of his life. His dog (Applecider) , his home and family and friends were always most important to him. He was predeceased by his father Albert George, his mother Margaret, his sister Elisa, his brother Herbie. His is survived by his former wife Georgette Windrem. His children - Rosina, Albert (Darlene), Roy (Peggy), Reta Winter, James (Susan), Ed (Ginette). His sisters - Mabel, Florence, Mary, Laura. His brothers - John, Jim. George will be missed greatly by his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral took place in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on Monday, September 23, 2002. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay, 310-180 Park Ave."
