GERALD K (BUD) EDWARDS
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my brother Gerald K. (Bud) Edwards on August 01, 2024 in Winnipeg at the age of 90 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Ivey, his siblings Bob, Ron, Irene, Muriel, Ruth Len, Barb and Jim. He is survived by his 3 sons,Charles, Max and Phillip; several nieces and nephews and his sister Dorothy Mulawyshyn. He started his golfing career at the Port Arthur Golf and Country Club. From there he went to Chapples Golf Course; and from there he moved to Winnipeg to be the golf pro at the Wildwood Golf course. After 3 years at Wildwood he accepted a position as pro at the Falcon Beach Lake Golf Course where he retired after 33 years of service. His interests were golfing, music, fishing and cooking. In the 1950's he had a band named "The Bud Edwards Trio" and he was well known for playing at weddings, socials and clubs. He was the backup band for Bobby Curtola's first record "Hand in Hand". Bud has been cremated and will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery.

I was very fortunate to play probably his last round at TBCC way back around 2008ish. He had alot of interesting facts and tidbits about the course. RIP Pro !!

I am so sad to read of Buddy´s passing. I remember him from the 50´s and 60´s. He played at my wedding and at many of the popular venues at the time. I have always remembered him. My condolences to his family.. he was a great guy.
