GERMANA FLORINDO Obituary
Germana was born on August 11,1930 in Sao Jorge, Azores to Maria Beatriz Silveira and Joao Domingos Silveira. Germana left her family and her career as an X Ray Technician to marry Jose Florindo. She immigrated to Canada in 1960. She was a wonderful wife and mother to four children. She devoted her life to her family. She was a fabulous cook and a baker. She loved preparing meals for her family and spent most of her time in the kitchen. She loved flowers and farmed along side her husband. Sadly, her husband of 60 years, Jose died in 2018.
Germana will be greatly missed by her children Maria (Chris), Susie (Leon), Albert, and Lori (Andy); her grandchildren, Spencer (Amanda), Mackenzie, Scott (Michelle), Alex (Dawna), Nick, Hayden and Nolan; her great grandchildren Oliver and Simon; and her siblings, Aida, Adozinda and Sergio. Germana was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Joao, Ildebrando, Urbano, Noemia, Alvarina, and Sandy.
Funeral Services for Germana will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Holy Family Church, 2055 Rosslyn Rd, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Doug McClure at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Private family entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Germana's memory to the Alzheimer Society or Diabetes Canada.

Very sorry to hear of your Moms passing.. She was a very special neighbour and friend... My prayers go out to all the family. Years ago she gave me a map of her home (island) and we spent many hours going over pictures that I took from the internet. She will be missed..
