Gillian Fishman Obituary

1942 - 2022

Gillian entered her next adventure from Chester Village on August 31, 2022. She waged a courageous battle with her Lewy body Dementia disease.

She was born in Scotland and came to Canada with her parents Reverend William, Agnes Inglis and sister Rosemary. Gillian will be fondly remembered and missed by her partner Mary Hodder, sister Rosemary Jack, nieces and nephews, Brennan, Lisa and Morgan, grandchildren Katrina, Ethan, Patrick, Sarah and Emily, family members Kathy Hunt and Gerry Wong. Her absence will be felt deeply by her special care giver Alita.

Gillian worked in many fields while residing in Ontario and Alberta. She left Alberta to pursue her passion as an artist in Toronto. An accomplished artist, she opened a Studio and Framing business where she displayed her paintings. There she instructed her art students in magic of painting.

Gillian's concern for others, generosity, kindness, and radiant smile will be missed by her many friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Reverend William and Agnes Inglis, her son Bradley, daughter Jennifer and their father Paul Hunt and brother-in-law Allan Jack.

A special thank you to all the staff at Chester Village. Your care of Gillian was exemplary.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Gillian's wishes there will not be a service. Donations in memory of Gillian can be sent to the CNIB Guide Dog fund or a Charity of Your Choice.

Mary, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. The Sapphire Unit will not be the same without Gillian and I am glad our paths crossed during Gary's time there.

Words never adequately express our sense of loss for you and all that knew and loved Gillian. She was a force and a truly inspiring one! She will always be missed and I look forward to finding time this year for us to reconnect in person in Toronto.

We have made a donation to CNIB in her memory.

Lots of love.
