Gladys Gerolami Obituary

Mrs. Gladys Gerolami, age 67 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 21, 2003. Gladys was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, February 2, 1936. Gladys spent the majority of her years raising her children. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Chapples and then Hacquoil Construction. In her later years Gladys spent a lot of time looking after her grandchildren and volunteering at Churches. Gladys enjoyed going to Florida for the winter months with her partner Mel and spent a lot of time shopping and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Joey (Lynda), of Kelowna, B.C. , Julian (Cynthia), of Thunder Bay, Wendy (Gary) Blackman, of Peterborough, Ontario, and her pride and joy her grandchildren; Jamie, Michael, Justin, Josh, Isabella, Chris, Ashley, and Brittney, as well as her close friend Mel Thompson. Also survived by her brothers Walter (Ruth) Giba, Benny Giba, and Tony Giba. Predeceased by mother and father Stephanie and John Giba, brother Lou Giba and sister Alice Giba. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2003 when friends and family will gather for Funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m. , St Agnes Church celebrated by Reverend Francis Pudicherry. Final interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, or a charity of your choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Gladys Gerolami in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
