GLEN McGEE Obituary

McGEE
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Glen McGee announces his sudden and unexpected passing at the age of 74 in his home on March 10th, 2025.

Glen was born on August 1st, 1950, in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, the eldest of four children to Ronald and Marguerite McGee. From a young age, he displayed an adventurous spirit, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing sports. Glen's greatest joy came when he met Lisette, the love of his life. They were married in 1973 in their hometown of Smooth Rock Falls. In 1977, they welcomed twins, Darren and Kelly, and that same year, they moved to Terrace Bay, where Glen began his career as a pipefitter with Kimberly Clark Pulp Mill. Together, they built a home both in spirit and in action raising their two children in a beautiful house that Glen crafted with his own skilled hands.

A true sportsman, Glen played hockey for the Terrace Bay Oldtimers, volunteered with the Trestle Ridge Ski Patrol, and enjoyed baseball. He was a passionate fisherman and hunter, often snowshoeing and snowmobiling into secluded fishing spots to catch brook trout and walleye. His annual moose and deer hunting trips with family and friends were a cherished tradition, and he amassed an impressive collection of trophies. Glen could often be found puttering around in his workshop or in the "cabin" he built in his basement. A hardworking man, he took great pride in growing delicious vegetables in his huge backyard garden and sharing them with his loved ones. In tribute to Lisette, who predeceased him in 2022, he maintained her flower garden with great reverence.

Glen leaves behind his three beloved grandchildren: Abby, Tiara, and Bellana; his loving sister Bonnie (Steve); and his brothers Wayne (Johanne) and Dean (Joanne). His daughter Kelly (Brad) and son Darren find comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his wife and best friend, Lisette.

Throughout their 49 years of marriage, Glen's love and support for Lisette were unwavering. His devotion was especially evident during Lisette's battle with pancreatic cancer, as he stood by her side day and night, holding her hand until her passing. Glen was a caring husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He will always be remembered for his generosity, kind soul, playful spirit, youthful enthusiasm, and for the sparkle in his eyes.

Dad, we mourn your loss while also celebrating the beautiful life you lived. We miss you deeply but find solace in knowing you are now reunited with Mom. We feel your presence with us every day and take comfort in knowing you are watching over us.

In accordance with Glen's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will take place in Smooth Rock Falls at a later date with close friends and family. His ashes will be laid to rest alongside those of his beloved wife, Lisette.

Glen was my older brother . We grew up together .He was a friend ,confidant, mentor.
I was there when he shot his first partridge with a bibi gun. I was there when he shot his first moose. Hockey on the streets and Tin can we´re great fun .We hunted and fished together until his departure for Terrace Bay.
He was skilled in all that he did . Loved his family dearly . It was the most important thing for him. His passion for fishing and hunting were over the top . It never got old . Great gardener and an excellent cook. He leaves us all with great memories.
