Glenn Stecky Obituary
Glenn William Stecky, formerly of Thunder Bay passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 27, 2006 in Prince George, B.C. Glenn is survived by his parents, Mary and Walter Stecky, his sister and brother-in-law Dee and Stan Polowski; his brother and sister-in-law Al and Lori Stecky; and his nieces and nephew, Sarah and Matt Polowski and Jessica Stolz. He is also survived by his dear friend and partner, Tasha Sutton. He was predeceased by his sister Kathie and his grandparents. Glenn was born and raised in Thunder Bay and headed out west to Alberta where he attended college in Lethbridge. While out west in his early twenties, he worked for Parks Canada as an Interpreter and also had various other jobs. He also completed a degree at Lakehead University, and continued his education receiving a diploma in Human Resources which led him to his past and present employment. Just recently Glenn had accepted a position with CanFor in Prince George, B.C. Prior to that he spent some time in Longlac at Buchanan Forest Products, but most recently he was living and working in Nipigon for Columbia Forest Products. While in Nipigon, Glenn left an impact on everyone while taking part in many community events including "Ride for Sight" and being a member of The Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and he played hockey and curled. Alongside his Dad and his brother Al, he built his home out at Hawkeye Lake and enjoyed many great times there. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends, and everyone who had the priviledge of knowing him. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Knox United Church, 1 Shuniah Street, Thunder Bay, ON. , with a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Ride for Sight, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice."
