GUY DAVIS Obituary

GUY S. DAVIS 1942-2025
The family of Guy Davis is saddened to announce his passing on November 26, 2025, in St. Thomas, ON. Guy was born in Toronto to Dr. Kenneth and Alice Davis. He attained an M.A. from U of T in Mathematics and Computer Science. He worked in computing for Sikorsky Aircraft and Lakehead University before getting his teaching certificate. He taught maths and sciences in Thunder Bay at several high schools and he also taught flying for Thunder Bay Flying School. Guy was adventurous. He made things happen. He build a house in O'Conner Twp.; he travelled extensively in Canada and around the world. He taught in Australia for 2 years. He acted and designed lighting for Cambrian Players and Milehill Melodrama; he had a huge s-scale model train collection; he camped, trailered, and boated. Most importantly, he involved his family in all of these undertakings. He will be truly missed by his wife Jolene (nee Appelle); his children Christopher Davis (Jennifer), Becky Davis (Chris), his stepchildren, Kristen Loblaw (Chris), Shelby Wolfe (Adam), Jodi and Mark Halunga. He was a loving and proud grandpa to his seven grandsons: Matthew, Cole, Warner, Peter, Max, Conner, and Colby. His family will gather for a Celebration of Life in the spring.

My deepest sympathies to Jolene and family. I often worked closely with Guy during his time with Cambrian Players. He was a brilliant, kind-hearted and unassuming man who took his commitments very seriously. You could always count on him. He is well remembered and will be missed by many in the Thunder Bay Theatre community, me included

Heartfelt condolences to Jolene and family on this sad occasion. Guy was a larger-than-life presence, and made contributions with his dry wit and incisive intellect in whatever sphere he entered. His technical expertise and hard work made a big difference to Cambrian Players during the years he spent with us, lighting our plays, teaching others, acting, and advising. Vivid memories. My family and I extend our sympathies to all those who miss him.

Very sad to hear of this. Remembering your boating adventures on Lake Superior and including our daughter in those adventures - so generous. Thinking of your trailer travels - Rainbow Falls comes to mind. Remembering the efforts of the work on the lighting at Cambrian and Milehill Melodrama. Peace and comfort to all of the family at this time

Guy was such a kind and loving man, who proudly shared his wealth of knowledge through the years to enlighten each and every one of us.
I can still remember how awestruck I was the first time he took my brother Mark and I flying in the training cessna's. And while way up in the beautiful skies, flying free like a bird, he would quietly say, here, take control, fly wherever you would like. He taught us to take off, fly and then land that bird. What an exhilarating experience!!
I have a lifetime of so many special memories that I will cherish forever!
From animal husbandry, yearly adventurous holidays, practical life lessons through to building your own home by the book! Forever with me.
Fly high and free Guy you most definitely earned those wings

Uncle Guy was always a quiet and kind person. He would show up every couple of years to visit with my Dad, Guy's older brother and my wife Michelle and I often spent time with him on these visits. I admired his adventurous spirit! One great childhood memory I have is flying with him near Thunder Bay and seeing the Sleeping Giant from the sky, I was about 8 years old and had never been near an airplane before! Guy's passing is the end of an era. His 4 siblings all predeceased. We will miss Guy's wry smile and kindhearrteness. Our condolences to all the family and friends. Guy left a positive mark on this earth.
