GYSBERTHA POSTHUMUS Obituary

GYSBERTHA (BEP) POSTHUMUS
"When can I go and meet with God"
~Psalm 42 verse 2B
Bep Posthumus received her answer on January 11, 2026, at the age of 92. Mom passed away peacefully with family by her side. Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the second oldest of 8 children. She worked as a nurse and was very proud of her profession. She met the love of her life, John, and after a short engagement, married and immigrated to Canada to start a new life. She was a dedicated mother of 4 children, and a lifelong member of First Christian Reformed Church. Mom had a passion for many things, but her greatest joy was volunteering in church, willing workers, community clubs, Twice As Nice, and The Rosslyn Women's Institute. Mom's greatest pride was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bep is predeceased by her husband John (1998), and survived by her four children; Eleanora (Paul) Vellinga, Lambert (Suzanne) Posthumus, Cathy (Ed) Janssens, and Gertrude (John) Grootenboer, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members here and in the Netherlands and Australia. Private family interment will be held prior, followed by funeral services on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at First Christian Reformed Church at 9 Cooper Road at 11:00am, celebrated by Pastor Matthew Guichelaar. If friends desire, donations to Life Water or Thunder Bay Christian School would be appreciated. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kirsten Addison for her many years of personal care to our mom.
