COOPER
Hazel Almieda Cooper passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025, just 13 days shy of her 99th birthday, with her daughter Cheryl and sister Pauline at her side. Mom was the second oldest, born to Walter James and Almieda Wilson. On September 3, 1943, mom married the love of her life, George Earl Cooper, and they had 47 wonderful years together until dad passed away in 1990. Throughout her working years, she worked in retail at Chapples, Sears and in the office at Canadian Tire. Family was very important to her, and she especially loved hearing about what was going on in the lives of her nieces and nephews, as well as her great and great-great nieces and nephews. Receiving calls, messages, and pictures from them always made her day and put a smile on her face. Mom enjoyed the last couple of years at Sister Leila Greco and made many friends, especially Joyce, June and Rose. They had many laughs at mealtime. Religion was important to her, and she enjoyed tea and talks with Reverend Joyce. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Sam) Kibsey, sister Pauline (Bob) Powell, goddaughter Paula Hale, as well as many nieces, nephews and their families, childhood friends Flo Hare, Bob and Mervie Agombar and their children and grandchildren. Predeceased by her loving husband, George Earl, her parents, Walter James and Almieda Wilson, brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Ida), Tommy, Grimes (Julie), sisters and brothers-in-law Bunny (Bill) Bangs, Caroline (Elmer) Hintze, nieces Suzanne Hintze, Carolyn Zelma and Donna Olsen, in-laws Roy and Mabel Cooper, as well as all of dad's siblings husbands and wives, and special partner Frank Agombar, son Gary. Many thanks to Dr. Almond, Dr. Storkson, Dr. Melton and hospital doctors, nurses on 1A Medical, 2A, and 2C. And thank you to everyone for the love, hugs and prayers during these last 6 months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Northern Cardiac Fund or a
Charity of Your Choice. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
Until we meet again, I will miss you dearly. Love you, Cheryl.
