Heather was born on April 19, 1962, in Port Arthur, Ontario, to Doris and the late Henry Hansen.
Heather married Brent Ring in 2022, after being together since 2007, sharing 18 wonderful years together. She was previously married to Fred Moir, with whom she had two daughters.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brent; her daughters Jacqueline (Mike) and Tea (Jacob); and her cherished grandchildren Elle, Jackson and Jameson. Heather is also survived by her mother, Doris Hansen, her siblings Edi Hansen (Geoff), Erik Hansen (Tanya), Diane Mehagan (Dennis) and Cheryl Allison (Kim), and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Hansen and her brother-in-law Brian Mehagan.
Heather had a lifelong love of music and singing. She was the lead singer in the Thunder Bay band Jade and brought joy to many through her voice and stage presence. She was also known for her kindness and willingness to lend a hand at Mirror Lake Campground, where she helped out regularly during the summers and made many lasting friendships.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.
Heather and her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the University of Alberta Hospital - specifically Admitting, Wards 3G2, 3G3 and 5C4 - for their compassionate care.
Per Heather's wishes, no service will be held. Donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation at
